Steve Spurrier is being honored by Tennessee with the Robert Neyland Award on Saturday, which is a bit ironic considering the Head Ball Coach had a lot of fun at the expense of the Vols throughout his career.

Spurrier met with the media on Friday ahead of being honored at Tennessee spring game and naturally, he was asked about his many one-liners and quips he made to poke fun at the Vols and others. Spurrier was asked which of his quotes was his favorite from his career, and he chose a dig at Georgia over anything he said about Tennessee or Florida State.

“They were asking me about all those things I said, the Citrus Bowl jokes and Free Shoes U. stuff,” Spurrier said, according to ESPN. “I told them I always thought the best one didn’t have anything to do with Tennessee or FSU. It’s the one I said about preferring to play Georgia the second week of the season because you could always count on them having two or three good players suspended every year. Everybody said, ‘Did you really say that?’ and I said, ‘Yes, because it's true.’ ”

The Head Ball Coach was always one of the best quotes among college football coaches and now that he's retired he still hasn't lost his quick wit when around a microphone.

Spurrier was asked about the reception he expects from Tennessee fans and he joked, "Oh, I think I’ll be all right. I haven’t had a win in about three years now and certainly haven’t beaten Tennessee, so they’ll probably take it easy on me."
