Tennessee LB Reeves-Maybin shot in arm, not seriously injured

Tennessee linebacker Jaylen Reeves-Maybin did not suffer any serious injuries after being shot in the arm early Sunday morning during an incident in his hometown.

Tennessee spokesman Jimmy Stanton told the Associated Press that Reeves-Maybin "was grazed by a stray bullet" after shots were fired at a party on Sunday at 2:45 a.m. in Clarskville, Tenn.. The 19-year-old linebacker was treated and released from Gateway Medical Center, requiring no stitches for the abrasion.

"He's a great individual, great character young man, so we're just very fortunate, very blessed he's doing fine right now," Volunteers coach Butch Jones said via the AP

Reeves-Maybin was back in class Monday after the incident.

The rising sophomore played mostly special teams in 2013, recording 14 total tackles in 11 games. He is expected to compete for a starting job in the fall.
