Texas A&M DB Victor Davis charged with shoplifting
Redshirt freshman defensive back Victor Davis was arrested on a shoplifting charge, per a graphic released by the Rosenberg, Texas police.
Another Texas A&M Aggie has gotten into offseason legal trouble.
The Rosenberg, Texas, police department released the following graphic through its Twitter and Facebook accounts Saturday. The photo in the bottom right-hand corner is of redshirt freshman Aggie defensive back Victor Davis:
According to the graphic, Davis has been accused of shoplifting at a Rosenberg Kohl's. "All subjects are innocent until proven guilty," reads its disclaimer.
"These individuals were arrested for Theft (Shoplifting) at stores within Rosenberg, TX," the caption on the Facebook posting reads. "These incidents took place during the last two weeks."
Further details have not yet been made available and A&M has yet to comment publicly. Davis was a three-star safety recruit in the Aggies' class of 2013, redshirted last fall, and is expected to challenge for a spot in A&M's secondary rotation this fall.
The arrest is the latest in a series of them for Aggie players this offseason. Starting defenders Isaiah Golden and Darian Claiborne were dismissed last month after their second arrests of 2014, potential starting quarterback Kenny Hill was charged with public intoxication in March, and starting wideout Ricky Seals-Jones was charged with disorderly conduct in April, among others.
