Texas suspends RB Daje Johnson, FB Chet Moss for Texas Tech
Mack Brown announced Thursday that Daje Johnson and Chet Moss will miss Texas' Thanksgiving Day game against Texas Tech due to a violation of team rules.
Texas' offense will be without one of its most explosive playmakers in the Thanksgiving Day game against Texas Tech, after Mack Brown announced a pair of one-game suspensions for running back Daje Johnson and fullback Chet Moss.
Johnson has accumulated 289 total offensive yards this season, providing a threat on the ground and catching passes out of the backfield. The sophomore also serves as the team's primary punt returner, taking a kick back for a touchdown earlier this season against Oklahoma.
The Longhorns are off this week, but will return to the field next Thursday looking to bounce back from their first Big 12 loss of the season against Oklahoma State. Texas is still in the Big 12 hunt, but will need to get some help and win out -- which includes a victory at Baylor to close the season -- in order to earn a share of the league title.
