Texas Tech transfer Delvon Simmons visiting Miami
Delvon Simmons, who started all 13 games in 2012 for Texas Tech, is transferring and now will visit Miami this weekend after checking out USC last week.
Delvon Simmons, who started all 13 games in 2012 for Texas Tech, has been granted his release by the Red Raiders and will transfer. The 6-foot-5, 290-pound defensive tackle is visiting Miami for an official visit, a source confirmed to CBSSports.com.
Simmons, a McKeesport, Pa., native, is also considering USC, Penn State and Pittsburgh. Simmons took an official visit to USC last week.
The former five-star recruit had initially signed with North Carolina but was granted a release and enrolled at Texas Tech, picking the Red Raiders over USC two years ago.
