Texas WR John Harris: 'They're still Baylor ... we're still Texas'
Texas wide receiver John Harris was kind enough to provide Baylor with some bulletin board material.
Good news for the Baylor Bears: They no longer have to look for any extra motivation for Saturday's game against Texas in Austin. Longhorns receiver John Harris was happy to provide a quote to post on any bulletin board the Bears would like to place it.
Texas WR John Harris: "They're still Baylor. Just because they started playing better, that's good for them. We're still Texas."— Mike Finger (@mikefinger) September 29, 2014
In Harris' defense, he's right. Baylor is definitely still Baylor, and Texas is still Texas as neither school has changed its name recently. Of course, that's not what Harris was implying when he said it. Harris is talking about Texas' long history as a college football powerhouse, while Baylor had long been a doormat before finding success in recent seasons.
In fact, since Harris came to Texas as part of the team's 2010 recruiting class, the Longhorns leading receiver in 2014 has seen Texas go 1-3 against Baylor.
So it would probably be better for Harris and the Longhorns if Baylor wasn't "still Baylor" but somebody else this Saturday.
