Texas WR Marcus Johnson (knee) injured in practice

Texas wide receiver Marcus Johnson suffered a knee injury in practice on Monday, but it is unknown how much, if any, time will be missed as a result.

Head athletic trainer Kenny Boyd confirmed to the The Dallas Morning News that Johnson suffered a sprained MCL during Monday morning's practice. There has been no timetable set for Johnson's return, but the staff is reportedly hopeful that he could return by the end of camp.

Texas is expected to start junior Jaxon Shipley and senior Mike Davis at wide receiver, but both have been limited in fall camp due to injuries. Their absence reportedly resulted in more first-team reps for Johnson during the first week of practice.

Johnson was a four-star prospect coming out of Clear Springs (League City, Texas) High School, but the 6-foot-1, 189 pound did not record a catch while appearing in eight games a year ago.
