There's nothing quite like bowl scheduling news in May, is there? On Thursday we found out the Bahamas Bowl would be played on Christmas Eve, and now, only a day later, we find out the Boca Raton Bowl will be played a day before the Bahamas Bowl.

Crazy, right?

“There is a high level of excitement for the new Boca Raton Bowl,” said the bowl's executive director, Doug Mosley. “We have a beautiful venue in FAU Stadium and a very engaged community in Palm Beach County.”

Listen, I'm one of those college football fans that actually likes having more bowl games because it means I have more football to watch, but "high level of excitement" about the Boca Raton Bowl is pushing it, Doug. I'm happy to know there's a game for me to watch on a December Tuesday, but let's not go off the rails.

In 2014 the Boca Raton Bowl will pit a team from Conference USA against a team from the MAC, though the American Athletic Conference is also affiliated with the game.
