The hiring of Bobby Petrino at Louisville has reportedly led to a head coach job coming open elsewhere.'s Bruce Feldman reported that UAB head coach Garrick McGee will resign from his position in order to become Louisville's new offensive coordinator at Louisville. Which is a bit of a surprise simply because you don't see head coaches on the FBS level leaving their current jobs to become coordinators somewhere else.

McGee is familiar with Petrino, however, as he spent four seasons on Petrino's staff at Arkansas, including as offensive coordinator in 2010 and 2011. It was after those two years as Arkansas' offensive coordinator that McGee was offered the job at UAB.

Since replacing Neil Calloway in Dec. 2011, McGee has finished two seasons with the Blazers, going 5-19 with a 3-13 record in Conference USA play.
