VIDEO: Ameer Abdullah determined to leave Nebraska with legacy
Nebraska senior running back Ameer Abdullah might be small but he delivers big plays and big expectations for the Cornhuskers.
Nebraska's Ameer Abdullah is coming off a spectacular performance against McNeese State, including a potential play-of-the-year touchdown run that may have saved the Cornhuskers from an embarrassing home loss against an FCS opponent.
CBS Sports Network caught up with Abdullah, whose family background and commitment to education led him to return to college to complete his degree rather than leave early for the NFL. Passed over by many major programs who determined he was too small to play running back in college, Abdullah has emerged as one of the top running backs in the nation this season and one of the most productive runners in Nebraska history.
Nebraska (2-0) plays at Fresno State on Saturday in a game that will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network at 9:30 p.m. ET.
