VIDEO: Dennis Dodd and Tim Brando on Miami, NCAA

The NCAA's investigation of Miami has already resulted in a harsh look at the current enforcement structure, but is it possible that the case could threaten the entire system?

Dennis Dodd joined Tim Brando on the Tim Brando Show on Tuesday to discuss the consequences of another misstep by the NCAA in this high-profile case.

"I think it's the biggest case in NCAA history," Dodd said. "Bigger than Penn State, bigger than USC, Ohio State, SMU even, because of what's at stake. The system is at stake.

"I don't believe the NCAA can survive even the tiniest slip-up in this Miami investigation from now until the penalties come out -- which may be eight, 11 months from now -- because we've gotten this far."

Miami president Donna Shalala has called for "no additional punitive measures" in the case as a result of the NCAA's investigation, which she called "lengthy and already flawed." As Miami works on its response to the Notice of Allegations, the NCAA enforcement staff will continue to represent the system as a whole in the eyes of the public.
