VIDEO: Nick Saban on conference champions-only playoff: "Hell no"
When Nick Saban deploys "a'ight?" you know he's serious. And while talking to Tim Brando, he deploys it multiple times while discussing the concept of a conference champions-only playoff--to which he says "hell no."
It was just yesterday that Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany told the AP that he wasn't a fan of "some teams that don't win their own division" playing for a national championship--a team, like, say, Alabama.
So maybe it's coincidence and maybe it's not that on the Tim Brando Show Thursday, Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban fired away -- or possibly "back" -- at "some of these people in these leagues" who out of "self-preservation purposes" have proposed limiting the coming playoff to conference champions only. And does Saban think such a plan would "accomplish what we set out to accomplish" in the overhaul of the BCS?
"Hell no," he said. Your move, Mr. Delany.
