BREAKING: Washington QB Cyler Miles suspended for season opener at Hawaii.— Adam Jude (@A_Jude) July 24, 2014
Miles was reinstated to the team in May after originally being suspended in February. Miles, along with then teammate Demore'ea Stringfellow were both suspended after allegedly assaulting a man following the Super Bowl. No charges were ever filed against Miles, thus leading to his return to the team.
Though he'll miss the season opener, Miles is still expected to be Washington's starter for the rest of the season, as the Huskies need to replace former starter Keith Price. Miles saw time in eight games for the Huskies last season, and finished the year having passed for 418 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for another 200 yards.
With Miles out, either sophomore Jeff Lindquist or redshirt freshman Troy Williams will get the start. Both players shared snaps during the spring game, but neither have thrown a pass in an actual game.
