Dan Rooney, the longtime owner and chairman of the Pittsburgh Steelers, this week at the age of 84. It's a significant loss not just for the Steelers franchise, but for the league as a whole. Rooney was one of the most influential figures in pro football. The Rooney Rule, which required teams to interview at least one minority candidate for vacant head coaching jobs, was the crown jewel among his many achievements.

Pitt, which plays its spring game today, will sport helmets featuring the classic Pitt Script logo on one side and the Steelers' logo on the other. (The Steelers' helmet features its logo on only one side.)
