WATCH: USC's Sam Darnold shows off his accuracy throwing off the back of a boat
If only college football was played on water, but alas
Sam Darnold is the starting quarterback for USC. He threw a critical touchdown in a Rose Bowl victory last season, capping off a nine-game winning streak. Other than Alabama and Clemson, the Trojans were the hottest team at the end of the year.
By law, that means Darnold is your offseason Heisman Trophy winner. While we won't know whether he'll be the actual Heisman winner -- and whether USC will make good on its offseason hype -- for another two months, we do know this: He can throw a mean football off the back of a boat to his wakeboarding receiver, Sean Morrissey.
Take a look, via Darnold's Instagram account.
The throw by itself is impressive. Hitting moving targets at that speed isn't easy. Plus, water can be choppy and all that. There are a lot of factors at play. But, goodness, what a catch by Morrissey.
If college football was played on water, go ahead and crown USC national champs. For now, appreciate the the pitch and catch, and get amped for some potential highlight throws between these two in the fall.
