West Virginia CB Nana Kyeremeh (shoulder) will redshirt 2013
West Virginia sophomore cornerback Nana Kyeremeh will redshirt 2013 after playing in every game as a true freshman in 2012.
West Virginia cornerback Nana Kyeremeh will miss the entire 2013 season due to a shoulder issue that will require surgery, Mountaineers coach Dana Holgorsen confirmed on Thursday.
"He went through all of the spring with [the shoulder] being loose," Holgorsen said. "It was loose when he got here and then he played last year with it loose. Then, practice two or three, it popped out.
"We were contemplating surgery with him anyway. We know he has a redshirt year. It's going to end up being good for him. He's going to go ahead and get it fixed right now. Then he'll be back for the spring."
Kyeremeh played in all 13 games as a true freshman last season and earned one start, recording 15 tackles and two pass breakups on the season. The cornerback was a three-star prospect (according to 247Sports Composite Rankings) coming out of high school, choosing West Virginia over Akron, Ball State, Boston College and Northwestern.
