The No. 8 Miami Hurricanes are going on the road this weekend, but they won't need to leave their home state. Miami is making the trip up to Tampa to face USF as the team tries to keep its hot start rolling.
The Hurricanes are off to a 3-0 start and have drubbed every opponent they've faced. Their closest game to this point in the season was a 41-17 romp against Florida in The Swamp. If star quarterback Cam Ward keeps torching opposing defenses, this trend of blowouts should continue against USF.
Through just three games, Ward has thrown for 1,035 yards, 11 touchdowns and zero interceptions while completing 73.0% of his passes. Those numbers have already made him one of the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy later this year, so the Bulls will have their hands full on Saturday.
If USF is going to keep up with Miami on Saturday, its offense will have to carry over the momentum from its 49-24 win over Southern Miss last weekend. The Bulls ran for 369 yards and five scores in that game, and that's been the biggest driver of their offensive success in the first month of the season. USF is averaging 268.7 yards per game, so expect the team to lean on that against Miami.
The Bulls have already faced a Power Four test earlier this season, and they acquitted themselves well. In Week 2, USF trailed Alabama by just five points midway through the fourth quarter before the Crimson Tide blew it open late for a 42-16 win.
