With Louisville win, UCF clinches program-first BCS bowl bid
Central Florida clinched the American Athletic Conference's automatic bid to the BCS thanks to Louisville's overtime win at Cincinnati.
Bridgewater led two fourth quarter touchdown drives to force overtime at Cincinnati; then Louisville's defense took care of business in the extra period to wrap a 11-1 regular season for the Cardinals. Cincinnati drops to 6-2 in conference play, eliminating the Bearcats from American Athletic Conference title contention and clinching the league's automatic BCS bid for the Knights.
Even if UCF loses at SMU on Saturday, the Knights would share the title with Louisville but earn the BCS bid thanks to the head-to-head victory earlier this season.
