  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Sticking around in Mile High City

Sutton agreed to terms Monday with the Broncos on a four-year, $60.8 million contract extension, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Sutton's deal reportedly includes $34.9 million guaranteed. Denver inked fellow wideout Tim Patrick to a three-year extension just three days ago, while Jerry Jeudy will remain on his rookie contract through 2024, so the team has now locked in its top three receivers for the foreseeable future. Sutton has turned in a mixed 2021 campaign in his return from surgery to repair a torn ACL, which wiped out most of his 2020 season. Though he has struggled to produce in recent weeks with just five catches for 78 yards and zero scores in his last three appearances, the 2018 second-round pick has flashed No. 1 potential and big-time playmaking ability in his career, including a sophomore season with over 1,000 receiving yards. After the Broncos were on bye this past week, Sutton will get a chance to bounce back with a matchup against the Chargers on Sunday.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Continues to disappoint

Sutton secured two of three targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Eagles.

Sutton struggled to get anything going against Philadelphia, and the wideout ended the contest with just under a nine percent target share in the Broncos' passing game. Fellow wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and Tim Patrick saw more targets than Sutton, but neither did much with their extra opportunities. Since Jeudy rejoined the lineup, Sutton has been an underwhelming player for fantasy and has seemingly taken a backseat to the other options in the Broncos' offense. Teddy Bridgewater's play in 2021 doesn't appear to be strong enough to support multiple pass catchers for fantasy, so it is possible that Sutton will continue to struggle to achieve consistent production. The 26-year-old will look to bounce back following the team's Week 11 bye.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Catches one pass in win

Sutton caught one of two targets for nine yards in Sunday's 30-16 win over Dallas.

On a day when the Broncos offense had surprising success against the Cowboys, Sutton was unable to get anything going. The wideout's two targets were the second-lowest of any Broncos pass catcher. On the other hand, teammate Jerry Jeudy saw a team-high eight targets in the contest. One would expect the target share to even out as the season progresses, but Jeudy's return means that Sutton may have games where he is less involved than fantasy managers would hope for. The 26-year-old will look to bounce back when the Broncos host the Eagles in Week 10.
