Damon Hazelton: Joins Houston's practice squad
The Texans signed Hazelton to their practice squad Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of SportsTalk 790 reports.
Hazelton spent the majority of training camp with the Texans, but he was waived and picked up by the Packers in August. However, he didn't make Green Bay's roster and has been looking for a job since. Hazelton wasn't drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft, but he still proceeded to sign with the Texans, where he was later waived. Hazelton played a role as a big-bodied specialist for contested catches during his collegiate career. After initially joining Ball State back in 2016, Hazelton transferred to Virginia Tech. He was thus forced to sit out the 2017 season, but from 2018-19 he logged back-to-back All-ACC seasons for Virginia Tech.
