WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - Matt Wilson's tip-in with 1.4 seconds left propelled UNC Wilmington to a thrilling 67-65 win over Campbell on Monday night for the Seahawks' third win in four games.
Donte Morales, who led the Seahawks (3-6) with 16 points, drove to the basket and tried to lay in the game-winner with less than 3 seconds left. His shot clanged off the rim but Wilson, who finished with seven points, swooped in for the putback and the victory.
The final margin was the first time UNC Wilmington led since midway in the first half.
Keith Rendleman added 12 points and KK Simmons 10 for the Seahawks, who began the season with five consecutive losses prior to this current streak.
Darren White led the Camels (8-4) with a game-high 29 points and Eric Griffin added 18. Campbell has lost three straight after putting together winning streaks of five and three games.
