BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) - Mike James scored 22 points and Devon Lamb added 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Lamar to an 85-66 victory against Northwestern State on Wednesday night.
Anthony Miles had 12 points and five steals for the Cardinals (16-8, 7-3 Southland), who moved into a tie with the Demons (14-10, 7-3) for second place in the conference's Eastern Division, a half-game behind idle McNeese State.
William Mosley had 16 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks to lead Northwestern State, and James Hulbin and Tyler Washington added 11 points each.
Lamar shot 50 percent (18 for 36) in the second half to break open a game it led 40-30 at the break. The Cardinals enjoyed a 20-4 points-off-turnovers advantage, as it had just seven giveaways to the Demons' 18.
Brandon Davis had 11 points for Lamar.
