Murray State outlasts SE Missouri State 82-75

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) Cameron Payne scored 23 points to lead Murray State over SE Missouri State 82-75 on Thursday.

Murray State (6-7, 1-0 Ohio Valley) shot 44 percent from the floor, including 9 of 26 (35 percent) from beyond the arc. Jarvis Williams scored 16 points and a career-high 18 rebounds for the Racers, while T.J. Sapp added 14 points. Murray State had 13 offensive rebounds and turned those into 17 second-chance points.

Southeast Missouri (8-6, 0-1) was led by Jarekious Bradley with 22 points on 8 of 14 shooting. Josh Langford had 17, while Nino Johnson added 13 points and seven rebounds. Tyler Stone chipped in with 10 points.

Murray State raced out to a 10-0 lead and stayed ahead until Langford's trey gave SE Missouri its first lead at 65-64 with 5:38 left in the game. Murray State then used an 18-10 run to close the game.
