SAN ANTONIO (AP) Nick Billingsley scored 17 points and Lucas O'Brien had 13 to lead Texas-San Antonio past UTEP 67-55 on Sunday in the Conference USA opener for both teams.

Billingsley entered averaging 15.3 points over his last six games.

Dominic Artis' layup with 14:40 gave UTEP its final lead at 38-37. Texas-San Antonio (6-8) went on a 12-2 run, which included a 3 from Billingsley, an O'Brien jumper and tip-in, and a 3 from Gino Littles.

Littles was the only Roadrunner starter in double figures with 11 points as Texas-San Antonio owned a 32-6 edge in bench points

Artis' 3 with 5:29 left brought UTEP (2-11, 0-1) to within 50-45 but the Miners couldn't get closer. Artis finished with 18 points and Omega Harris had 12.

The Roadrunners have already eclipsed last year's win total and have extended their home winning streak to seven games.
