SAN ANTONIO (AP) Erik McCree scored 25 points, grabbed nine rebounds and made the key plays in the closing seconds to help Louisiana Tech edge UTSA 72-66 on Saturday.

UTSA scored eight straight to close within 68-66 with 1:14 to play. After a Bulldogs turnover, the Roadrunners missed two shots and Omar Sherman's layup with 20 seconds left made it 70-66. McCree then blocked a 3-point attempt, grabbed the rebound and made the clinching free throws. He also grabbed the last rebound after UTSA missed a 3-pointer with six seconds to play.

Jalen Harris added 12 points for the Bulldogs (18-8, 10-4 Conference USA), who have won four straight and avenged a 69-68 loss to the Roadrunners at home.

Lucas O'Brien had a career-high 23, hitting five 3-pointers, for UTSA (11-14, 6-6), which had its two-game winning streak snapped. Jeff Beverly added 12.

La. Tech led 42-36 at the half and used an 11-0 run to make it 53-41 with 13.55 to play. The lead held until UTSA's closing surge.
