KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) Nick Masterson had 18 points and Tyler Hooker added 17 as Kennesaw State started slow but dominated the second half to pick up its first win of the season, rolling over Division III Piedmont 77-54 on Thursday night.

Masterson drilled 4 of 7 from beyond the arc, making 7 of 12 field goal attempts. Hooker was 8-of-14 shooting with six rebounds and five assists. Tristan Jarrett added 14 points and Jordan Jones chipped in eight with 11 rebounds and two blocks.

Piedmont stayed close, trailing 37-31 at the half, but the Owls (1-2) opened the second period with a 16-4 run. James Scott and Kyle Clarke hit two straight jumpers to kick-start the Kennesaw State run.

Kennesaw State was 32 of 66 (48.5 percent) from the floor while limiting the Lions to 20-of-65 (30.8 percent) shooting.

Justin Vallejo led Piedmont with 18 points.
