Vertical Wingspan Draft Range
-- 7'4" Late second round - Undrafted
  • It sounds crazy, but Mbakwe started his career back in 2007 at Marquette. Nearly six years later, the 6-foot-8 power forward is hoping to get a chance late in the draft. He had a knee injury, a junior college stint, an assault charge, two seasons without games, a very solid junior season - and then another knee injury that ended his 2011-12 season. As a sixth-year senior, Mbakwe took awhile to get going, but showed flashes of his former potential. -- Jeff Borzello
  • Mbakwe has a strong body and great length for his height. Despite being undersized at the next level, his motor and energy are what sets him apart from the competition. He doesn't take plays off, and constantly plays hard. As a result, Mbakwe became one of the more efficient rebounders in the country. Mbakwe is also a decent finisher at the basket. -- Jeff Borzello
  • Most of Mbakwe's baskets came from offensive rebounds and easy dumpoffs at the rim. He has limited face-up range, and doesn't have too many back-to-the-basket moves. Mbakwe is also left-dominant and needs better dexterity. He's only 6-foot-8, which doesn't suit the power forward position well in the NBA. Like Kenny Kadji, Mbakwe is older than most of his competition: 24 years old. -- Jeff Borzello
