Tigers report: Strategy and personnel

Strategy and personnel · Notes, quotes · Inside slant

THIS WEEK'S GAME: LSU at Arkansas, Nov. 26, Little Rock -- Arkansas has a history of playing some of its best football under coach Houston Nutt in Little Rock. Plus, the Razorbacks are still fighting for a winning season and a bowl berth, so the Tigers should have their hands full. The key will be matching that hunger and intensity -- even though LSU has already reached those goals.

QBs JaMarcus Russell and Marcus Randall completed only eight of 24 passes for 81 yards and no touchdowns against Ole Miss, and Russell also threw an interception that Ole Miss returned for a touchdown. One of these players needs to step up and prove he can consistently make plays in the passing game.

RB Alley Broussard -- The quarterbacks are struggling, but the backs and the linemen are stepping up. Last week it was Broussard doing the damage, rushing for an LSU record 250 yards and three touchdowns against Ole Miss and earning SEC offensive player of the week honors.

DB LaRon Landry -- Landy has been a big boost to the front seven, leading the Tigers with 80 tackles, four tackles for losses and three sacks.

DB Daniel Francis (high ankle sprain) and OT Brian Johnson (shoulder) are both questionable for the Arkansas game, while DE Marcus Spears appears likely to return and play through a hip flexor injury.
