Bedrosian seems likely to step into the closer role with Huston Street (knee) landing on the DL on Tuesday, although manager Mike Scioscia said the team will go with a closer by committee, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.

The major league closer carousel just keeps spinning. Scioscia seemed intent on sticking by Street as his closer despite a five-run implosion Sunday, but the knee issue has forced his hand, and it will presumably be Bedrosian who is the main beneficiary. Bedrosian has allowed just four earned runs in 39 innings this season, using fastball-slider combo to fan batters at a 31.2 percent clip.
