Marte was placed on the 10-day DL with a foot fracture Friday.
The move is retroactive to Tuesday, meaning Marte can return as soon as September 15. He hasn't played since August 25, though, and given the Angels' wealth of options at first base and designated hitter, he likely wasn't going to be much more than a pinch hitter down the stretch anyway.
