Morton (12-7) allowed one run on five hits and a walk while striking out seven to get the win Friday over Seattle.

Morton, who had been 0-2 and allowed nine runs over 17.2 innings in three previous starts against Seattle this season, finally broke through in his fourth attempt. In all four starts, Morton squared off with Seattle ace James Paxton, who had limited one of the American League's most prolific offenses to one run over 20 innings in his previous three starts. Morton will take the mound next Friday against the Angels.
