Astros manager A.J. Hinch said Fister will follow Dallas Keuchel, Collin McHugh, Mike Fiers and Scott Feldman as the No. 5 starter to open 2016, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Fister has struggled this spring (8.44 ERA), but he's struck out 16 over 16 Grapefruit League innings. The 32-year-old posted a 5.5 K/9 last season, so an uptick in strikeouts would make him more appealing for fantasy purposes. Keep in mind he made 10 appearances out of the bullpen last year and could be a candidate to move to the pen once Lance McCullers (shoulder) is ready to return.
