Athletics' Sonny Gray: Logs quality start in win over Toronto

Gray allowed three runs on six hits walking three and striking out seven over seven innings of an 8-5 win against the Blue Jays on Friday night.

Gray (3-1) cruised through five innings, allowing just a solo home run to Darwin Barney, before struggling in the sixth where he walked three and needed 27 pitches to complete the inning. Still, he escaped allowing just one run in that frame and maintained the A's lead as you would hope your ace would do. He'll carry a solid 2.73 ERA into his next start against the Tigers in Detroit.
