Athletics' Stephen Vogt: Retreats to bench Monday

Vogt is not in the lineup Monday against the Astros, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

This is the second time in three games that Vogt will sit out. The 32-year-old is having one of the worst seasons of his career, as he's batting just .219, so he'll need to vastly improve if he wants to escape the timeshare behind the plate that's developed between him and Josh Phegley, who's starting in his place Monday.
