Sturdevant has signed a minor league contract with the A's that includes an invite to spring training, CSN Bay Area reports.

The right-hander pitched reasonably well in 16 appearances with the Rays (3.93 ERA, 1.31 WHIP), even racking up three holds during the summer months, but it wasn't enough to maintain a spot on the 40-man roster through the end of the season. Sturdevant does not have overpowering stuff but he mixes in four pitches and should be in the conversation for a middle-relief role in the spring.
