Athletics' Yonder Alonso: Likely to sit against Boston lefties

Alonso (knee) will likely be held out for the next couple of games with the A's facing three left-handed pitchers, Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Ryon Healy is set to fill in at first base for the time being with the A's facing Chris Sale, Drew Pomeranz and Eduardo Rodriguez for the rest of the weekend set. This could be a fortuitous time for Alonso to sit out given that he was left out of the lineup Thursday due to a sore knee. Although Alonso will likely be out of the lineup for at least another game this weekend, he could be available to pinch hit if his knee soreness subsides.
