Soria (finger) has resumed throwing and could be activated during the upcoming homestand that begins Friday against Detroit, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Soria is pain-free and nearing activation. He currently sports a streak of five straight scoreless innings with eight strikeouts and three saves over that stretch. Jordan Romano has been working as Toronto's closer, but he doesn't have a firm grip on that job. Regardless of his role, Soria should work in high-leverage spots once healthy.
