Lopez signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays on Thursday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of SportsNet reports.

Lopez is expected to serve as organizational depth for Toronto heading into 2017. He's had minimal major league exposure to this point, as he's recorded a mere 21 plate appearances across 15 games in his career, over which he's had two hits and drawn two walks. His performance has been better in the minors, but still drastically underwhelming. At Triple-A Louisville in 2016, he slashed a bleak .213/.262/.297 and posted a 23.1 percent K-rate.
