Fried might be tabbed to start Wednesday's game following the injury to Mike Foltynewicz (finger) during Thursday's contest, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

It was looking like Fried might've lost his spot in the rotation, but with Foltynewicz's injury, the 23-year-old will likely take his place during Wednesday's game. There's a chance that manager Brian Snitker taps Lucas Sims instead of Fried, but that choice will likely be made toward the tail end of this weekend. During six appearances (two starts) with the big-league team this season, Fried has posted a 4.70 ERA and 1.76 WHIP over 15.1 innings.
