Wilkerson allowed one earned run and struck out nine batters in a game with Double-A Biloxi on Wednesday.

Wednesday's start was Wilkerson's best of the season, but he has been at least fairly effective for much of the season, not giving up more than three earned runs in any of his seven starts while posting a 3.47 ERA and 41:12 K:BB over 36.1 innings. He did not fare well in the hitter-friendly PCL last year, but he will turn 28 years old before May ends, so he could get a shot at a higher level later this year.
