Woodward (elbow) has struck out seven batters while allowing two earned runs on four hits and four walks over four innings across two appearances since being activated from Single-A Carolina's 60-day injured list Aug. 10.
A fourth-round pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft, Woodward didn't make his professional debut until June 27, when he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League after completing his recovery from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in the spring of 2023. He made four appearances in the ACL before moving up to Carolina, where he'll most likely finish the 2024 campaign. He hasn't covered more than two innings in any of his six outings to date but should have his workload restriction loosened a bit in 2025.
