Espino allowed three runs, two of which were earned, on five hits while striking out three over four innings, but received no decision Friday against the Cubs.

Espino made his major league debut and was limited to 71 pitches and left the game with a 3-2 deficit, but the offense was able to take him off the hook for a potential loss by scoring twice in the fifth inning. With Junior Guerra (calf) potentially returning soon from the disabled list, Espino may not stick in the rotation for long. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Diamondbacks.
