The Brewers released Hinojosa on Tuesday, J.J. Cooper of Baseball America reports.
Acquired by Milwaukee last March in a deal that sent catcher Erik Kratz to San Francisco, Hinojosa spent the entire 2019 campaign at Double-A Biloxi, slashing .280/.338/.400 over 460 plate appearances. With the 2020 minor-league season in jeopardy and the 25-year-old Hinojosa not viewed as a major part of the organization's long-term plan, Milwaukee opted to cut him loose to save money.
