Gyorko (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday.

Gyorko was removed from Saturday's game against the Rays after straining his right hamstring while attempting to score the go-ahead run in the eighth inning of an eventual 6-4 Cardinals victory. The infielder was able to walk off the field under his own power following his removal from the contest, but after reevaluating Gyorko earlier Sunday, the Cardinals determined he would need more than a week off to recover from the injury. The extent of Gyorko's injury and a timetable for his return likely won't be known until he undergoes an MRI. In the meantime, Greg Garcia will pick up the start at the hot corner in the series finale Sunday and could see the bulk of the work at the position until Gyorko is activated.
