Cubs' Hector Rondon: Dealing with elbow injury
Rondon will be shut down for the next couple days while resting from right elbow inflammation, Jesse Rogers of ESPNChicago.com reports.
Rondon hasn't pitched since Sept. 8 against Milwaukee, and will be sidelined for the near future while giving his arm some time to rest. The reliever underwent a few tests prior to Friday's game, which all came back negative, signaling no structural damage in his elbow. Although this is a positive sign, manager Joe Maddon failed to supply any sort of timetable for Rondon's return, making it difficult to predict when he'll be ready to return to the field. Expect a more concrete outlook following a few days off.
