Cubs' Jon Lester: Finally earns second win

Lester (2-2) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five batters over six innings during Thursday's win over Cincinnati.

It hasn't been a standout start to the season for Lester. He's collected just two wins and sports a mediocre 3.57 ERA and 1.38 WHIP. However, the veteran lefty has continued to pile up strikeouts (9.2 K/9) and has proven to be a durable asset with five consecutive 200-inning campaigns. It's difficult to complain considering the starting pitching pool is littered with injuries and underachievers, and a breakout stretch could be ahead. Lester lines up next for a home start against the Giants.
