Montgomery (0-3) took the loss in Friday's game against the Brewers. He struck out one and allowed two runs (both earned) on two hits and three walks over two innings.

Cubs starter Eddie Butler only made it through three innings, so Montgomery was called on early in this one. He made it through the fourth inning with the Cubs up 3-2, but he gave up two runs in the fifth. Despite the rough outing, Montgomery still has a solid 2.60 ERA and he remains a valuable long reliever for Chicago.
