Rivera went 3-for-5 with a run in a 17-3 blowout of the Pirates on Wednesday.
His hits weren't exactly crucial to the team's success, but they're nice for Rivera, as he'd started off his Cubs career by going just 1-for-9 while playing sporadically. Don't expect this outing to win him any more extra time with Alex Avila hitting well as the interim No. 1 catcher while Willson Contreras (hamstring) remains sidelined.
