Cubs' Sergio Alcantara: Returns to Triple-A

Alcantara was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

The 24-year-old was promoted in late May after Nico Hoerner (hamstring) landed on the injured list, and he'll head back to the minors now that Hoerner is healthy. Alcantara has appeared in 30 big-league games this season and has a .179/.282/.403 slash line in 79 plate appearances.
