Patton was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Monday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Patton, who was dealt to Chicago from Texas back in November, made 27 major league appearances for the Rangers, but he also spent equal time at Triple-A. The right-hander found considerably more success in the minors, posting a 2.28 ERA across 27.2 innings, compared to an ugly 9.00 in 24.0 major league innings.
